Problem free life?

Oppdatert: 5. mars

Sometimes the Gospel is presented by some Christians as, ‘ just come to Jesus and everything in your life will be good.’ Unfortunately this is not always true, and it is certainly not what the Bible tells us. Many people who receive Christ can actually testify that after coming to Christ they have experienced more attacks on their thoughts than before they came to believe in Jesus and His perfect work and sacrifice for us.

There can be many reasons for this. One main one is of course that satan hates to loose anyone that he thought he had in his hand, and will henceforth attack their minds so that they will give up their newfound belief in the atoning work of Jesus! He will work hard to discourage new believers in hope that they will leave the faith they just entered in to. “See, it did not work as promised! You must not be cut out for this. There must be something wrong with YOU or you are doing it wrong, since this whole faith thing does not work for you! Your life did not magically improve as promised, did it?” And so on and so on. He will maliciously manipulate, lie and discourage you so that you give up this ‘faith project’ and try to have you forget the peace and joy you felt when receiving Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour.

In fact the Bible does not say IF you meet trials, but WHEN you meet trials…

We are not promised an easy life here on earth. We are not promised that attacks won’t come or bad things will never happen, but Jesus has promised to be with us ALL days!

Jesus is the source of our joy, peace, strength, faith, love, breakthroughs, blessings etc.

He also wants to help us, through the prompting and help of the Holy Spirit, to take all thoughts captive to obey Christ.

So do not be discouraged in the midst of it all, but cling to Jesus, seek encouragement from the Bible and the fellowship of believers. Ask for prayers and intercession on your behalf when you go through these attacks.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭MSG‬‬

“My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up in you the power of endurance. And then as your endurance grows even stronger, it will release perfection into every part of your being until there is nothing missing and nothing lacking.”

James (Jacob)‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”

‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

God bless you.
